Introducing: Thirteen Emotions

UPDATE: Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to delay publishing Thirteen Emotions. I will keep you posted on the new date as soon as possible.

After almost three years of The Manhattan Mishap, I’m ecstatic to announce my next project: a collection of short stories and flash fiction called Thirteen Emotions. As the title suggests, the stories are based on 13 different emotions. Originally, it was something I started in the pandemic. After all, being laid-off from my fashion marketing job left me with a lot of time for passion projects. Instead of baking bread or starting a garden, as many people did during that strange time, I started digging deep into my brain and allowing words to flow from my fingertips to my keyboard.

Most of these stories have been published on my website in one form or another. For Thirteen Emotions, I’ve updated and edited them and, dare I say, perfected them. Although, any creative knows that things are never truly perfect. I could probably spend the next hundred years going over and over and over these short stories and still find subtle tweaks.

There are also three brand-new stories that haven’t been published before. One about discovering your dream life, one about dealing with conflicting emotions after the death of a parent, and one about losing a baby.

As a warning: these stories are not for deliriously happy people. They’re kind of… dark. Murky, even. That being said, there are some that are bubbly and jovial and will make you smile and perhaps giggle. However, for the most part, there are some serious topics at hand here: death, adultery, grief. Of course, you can’t know true happiness without experiencing some shadowy stories.

Thirteen Emotions is for everyone who has ever lost a loved one, not gotten over an ex, been the other woman, been cheated on, had their heart broken into a million pieces, been through a divorce, lost their soul, and also been the happiest they’ve ever been either with a partner or perfectly content on their own.

Currently, I’m going over the final manuscript one last time. And then I need to approve everything in Amazon’s backend. Then, if all goes well, which I’m sure it will because it has to, Thirteen Emotions will be available to purchase on June 1st, 2024 at 5PM PST. Because isn’t June the most delicious month? Plus, it’ll be just in time for you to grab a copy to take on your fabulous summer vacation.

On Amazon, you’ll be able to buy eBooks and paperbacks. Through my bookstore, I’ll have a limited-run of 13 signed paperback copies. I hope you love Thirteen Emotions as much as I do!
