My New Book, Thirteen Emotions, is Available to Buy Now
Eek! I can’t believe I’m finally writing this: Thirteen Emotions is available to buy now! This is my much anticipated—at least to me—collection of short stories that are guaranteed to get you in your feelings. Each story revolves around the theme of an emotion, from sadness to anger, pleasure, and happiness.
Over the course of four years, I wrote all of these stories. Some in rapid succession, some with months-long breaks in between. Eventually, however, they all made their way from my brain though my manicure, into my keyboard, and into the form of a short story or flash fiction. There are 18 stories total, with each one ranging from about 800 to 1,800 words.
Thirteen Emotions is full of bite-sized stories that you can snack on throughout the day: on your commute, on a plane, before bed, while waiting for a shaken iced latte at Great White. You name the place, I’ll name the story you can read. And even better news? The book is slim (and stylish) enough for you to slip into your go-to purse. Trust me, I tried to make it even smaller but then it wouldn’t have been available in all regions on Amazon and long story short, it wouldn’t have been worth it.
I posted on Threads recently about cancelling the distribution for my debut novel, The Manhattan Mishap. It was a tough decision, but ultimately I want to focus on my new book and keep things moving forward in a positive way. There are things I don’t like about my first book (the cover) and things I wish I’d done differently (had more creative control) and with Thirteen Emotions I’ve (almost) made up for my past mistakes.
And just as any creative person can relate to, I am ready to move on and yap about my new book. Onto bigger and better things!
Unlike with The Manhattan Mishap, I won’t be selling my book in bookstores. Yet, anyway. I’m planning on doing consignment with a few bookstores, but can’t lock that in until I have physical copies on-hand. For now, you can buy hardcovers and paperbacks on Amazon. You can also grab a signed hardcover from my bookstore. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll get to do another reading and signing for this book too.
I’m sooo excited to hear what you think about Thirteen Emotions. Don’t forget to tag me on social media and/or leave me a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or wherever you bought my book.
