Looks I Served in New York City — from Fashion Week to Carrie Bradshaw's Apartment
Hello from New York City! Well, actually while writing this I’m back in Toronto. However, I’d rather be in NYC again so let’s pretend. After all, Manhattan sidewalks are my favourite runways in the world.
At the beginning of September, my husband, twins, and I flew to New York for two gorgeous and glamorous weeks. It was our first time staying in Brooklyn. Although it was cute, we came to the conclusion that we are more Manhattan people. It’s just our vibe.
And it’s also where I serve the best looks. My husband, too. Because even though I’m not sharing his street style pics in this post, he was looking handsome as hell. Props to an all black, designer wardrobe.
My Fave Looks I Served in New York City
I’ve been all around the city. When I go to New York, I want to see New York. All of it. I mean, obviously. It’s one of my favourite cities in the world. And even though this time I had two babies on my hip, I still managed to dress up and serve some fierce looks.
Carrie Bradshaw’s Apartment
I was channeling early 2000s chic with this look. The pink off-the-shoulder top was a Value Village find. And even though I’m not usually a pink person, it was only $7.49 and for that price I decided that maybe pink is my colour after all.
New York Fashion Week
How cool are these Lionne cargo jeans? Personally, I’m obsessed. My inner Bella Hadid came out to play! I paired them with a vintage men’s suit vest and thrifted leather & denim boots.
Washington Square Park
Can you say rawr? Whenever I’m in New York, I feel like my fiercest self has been let loose and is on the prowl. Things that I might not have the confidence to wear in other cities feel totally normal in NYC. For example, a thrifted bustier, leopard jeans, and leopard opera gloves.
The Brooklyn Museum
I love a good men’s suit. This is one of my favourites I’ve ever thrifted. I got it about three years ago at Value Village and it’s still going strong. I wore it with a Yeezy Gap Balenciaga second skin top and thrifted strappy sandals.
Holly Golightly’s Apartment
Of course, a jaunt to the Upper East Side wasn’t complete without a little pose outside of my other favourite New Yorker’s apartment. Miss Holly Golightly is as glam as it gets and Breakfast at Tiffany’s will always be one of my favourite films. I wore a NACU Studios dress with vintage boots, a RAFE New York purse, and Vogue by Hailey Bieber sunglasses.

Out & About in Brooklyn
For the farmer’s market, I kept it laid-back and chic in a leopard-print slip dress and sneakers. Gotta be comfy when I’m choosing the fresh veggies and tomato sauce that are going to simmer together to create the most delicious pasta for my family.
A Lunch Date
It seems like whenever I travel, my cowboy boots come along. And to me, they’re not a trend. I’ve loved them forever and ahem, actually know how to ride a horse. Yeehaw. But here they’re teamed up with my subtle leopard slip dress from Pradegal.
I can’t wait to wear the Lionne cargo jeans again. And I definitely need to work in Gigi Hadid’s Guest in Residence shirt too. Which look was your favourite?
