My Favourite Ways to Spend a Sunday — From Face Masks to Pancakes & Retro Rom-Coms

My favourite ways to spend a Sunday — in a silk nightgown with fresh skin!

Sundays are a glorious day of the week. Dare I say, the most glorious! I love waking up knowing that there is a whole day ahead of me where I can do whatever I please, whenever I please. Read a book? Of course! Indulge in a carb-heavy brunch? Why not. Feast my eyes on a retro rom-com? Hell yes!

However, since giving birth, my Sundays have looked a little different than they used to. I’m not complaining. Change is good. It’s necessary. And now there’s nothing I love more than spending time with my babies. I might be biased but they are beyond cute.

Anyway, here are my favourite ways to spend a Sunday! With or without newborn twins.

My Favourite Ways to Spend a Sunday

Doing a face mask

Is there anything better than a face mask on Sundays? For a while, I was also doing belly masks when my baby bump was getting super itchy. I highly recommend SoKind’s belly sheet masks in the third trimester. They’re a dream. Also, I love Piel Canela’s natural charcoal mask for your face.

Watching classic cinema

At the beginning of the pandemic, my fiancé and I started a new tradition: Classic Cinema Sunday. We watched everything from the early 40s to the late 70s. (Anything after that we considered to be too current.) Old movies are so glamorous and fun. Well, when you tune out the wild jokes and sexist plots. Mostly I just adore the fashion.

Eating pancakes, waffles, or French toast

I’m a big “brunch on Sunday” kind of woman. When I was a kid, my dad would always make something special on Sunday mornings. His go-to was definitely buttermilk pancakes. Although, he would occasionally switch it up with crumpets or waffles. My Grammy also made excellent crêpes. Every Sunday, without fail, I make something that we wouldn’t normally eat during the week. Another fave of mine are lemon blueberry scones.

Moisturizing with intoxicating oils

Skincare is so important to me. If for no other reason than I want to glow. Even though I’m not pregnant anymore and don’t have that “natural” pregnancy glow, I can fake it. My favourite right now is Eve Lom’s Radiant Face Oil. And a close second is just plain old coconut oil. All over my body!

Drinking non-alcoholic champagne

Ever since I had my babies, I’ve been super careful about alcohol consumption. And while I was pregnant with them as well. Obviously. When I want something a little fancier than sparkling water, I reach for a bottle of TÖST. It’s a non-alcoholic, natural, dry sparkling beverage made with tea! It looks fabulous in my champagne coupes.

Celebrating the small things

Now more than ever I want to celebrate the small things. Did my babies sleep through the night? (No, but whatever.) Did they smile at me? Was there a point in my day where I felt pure joy? Did I laugh? Was the sun shining? Did we go for a walk to the park? It’s all about the small things! Also, love JoJo’s song Small Things.

Sleeping in

These days, sleeping in seems like a distant memory. But a girl can dream! My twins don’t respect Sunday as being a holy day of relaxation. So rude, right? (Kidding.) Still, I can’t get enough of snuggling with them and my fiancé in our white, fluffy, cloud-like bed. It’s heaven.
