Easter in the Morry-Malcher Household
Growing up, Easter was a favourite holiday of mine. I remember countless egg hunts and dinners with family and my grandparents spoiling my sister and I rotten with way too many gifts that weren’t chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. I also remember being very particular about how many eggs my sister and I each got and perhaps forcing her to count them to ensure we both had the same amount—especially if she had collected more than me. After all, I’m the older one and it just wasn’t fathomable that my younger sister could have more chocolate than me!
This year was super fun because the twins are now old enough to enjoy an egg hunt of their own. And it was actually the first year we did one. They had a great time searching for both chocolate and plastic eggs filled with tiny toy cars. Last year, we went to the Grove to meet the Easter Bunny and get our photos taken. However, this year I decided to set up a tripod at home and take our own family photo before zipping out the door.
We ended up doing our usual Sunday farmers market with some friends of ours and then coming home to prepare our feast: roast beef, potatoes roasted with bacon fat, carrots & shallots, and an apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Happy Easter everyone! Hope you ate lots of chocolate, smelled fresh flowers, gorged yourself on wholesome foods, and loved every second.
