3 Reasons Why The Manhattan Mishap Should Be Your Next Beach Read

It’s hot, you’re hot, my book is hot. And nothing is better in the heat than to chill out with a good book. Better yet? A fun, frivolous beach read. Considering the current state of the world, I think we could all use an escape. Whether you’re by the sea or by the pool, The Manhattan Mishap is the ideal chick-lit beach read.

First of all, the storyline isn’t overly complicated. You can easily follow along between dips in the ocean and sips of your seaside cocktail. Second, it’s lighthearted and fashion-forward. You’ll be rooting for the main character while also lusting after her wardrobe. Not to mention, her boyfriend. Even the antagonist you’ll love to hate! Or hate to love? Whatever. Let me know after you read it.

From the coast to the couch to coach, here’s why The Manhattan Mishap should be your next chick-lit beach read.

It’s more refreshing than an icy gin martini

The Manhattan Mishap’s main character Margot adores an icy cold gin martini. It’s her go-to drink. And what do we all love on a steamy summer’s day? A refreshing beverage. Preferably an alcoholic one. So, mix yourself up something with a kick and recline on a sunbed with The Manhattan Mishap.

The story and sex scenes will turn up the heat

As if we need any help turning up the temperature in a heat wave. However, Margot and her sexy beau definitely work up a sweat. I’ve had people ask if Oliver Thompson is based on someone in real life. The answer? He very well might be. I never kiss and tell. After you read this chick-lit beach read, let me know what you think.

You’ll be inspired to update your wardrobe

When I was writing The Manhattan Mishap, the outfits I wrote about took inspiration from ones I’d want to own. And wear! My wardrobe is constantly evolving. Am I envious of Margot’s ever-expanding closet? Of course. Brb I’m going to go hit Value Village.
