3 Bookish Instagram Accounts to Follow Now for All Your Literary Inspo

An iced latte from a place I stumbled upon in DTLA, Bottega Louie

Browsing the best selling table at The Last Bookstore.

As an author, it’s essential that I read as much as I can. Even before I made writing my full-time job, I was a voracious reader. Although, admittedly, I had a lot more time to devour books before having kids. Still, I try to read a chapter or two of a current read every night before bed. Then there are other times where I’m taking the twins to an appointment or something and I’ll bring a book in my bag to occupy my time.

And when on social media, of course I have to follow the coolest and chicest book accounts that I can find. Which, at the moment includes Common Library, Seen Library, and Library Science.

Book accounts on Instagram have emerged as a vibrant and engaging community for readers and literary enthusiasts. These accounts often show off a wide array of content, including reviews, reading challenges, and aesthetic photos of books and reading spaces. By utilizing visually appealing layouts, bookstagrammers connect with like-minded people, sharing their love for literature and discovering new titles along the way. This platform not only promotes reading culture but also provides authors with a space to reach their audience directly, fostering a dynamic interaction between creators and consumers in the literary world.

Here are my top 3 bookish accounts to follow now.

Common Library

“A community for book lovers.”

Common Library is based in New York—one of my favourite cities in the world. The vibe is modern, artful, and minimal. Common Library features current reads and interviews with authors and readers alike. Recently, I was featured on their page! Check out the post here.

Seen Library

“For those who read.”

The Seen Library aesthetic is chef’s kiss gorgeous. Think beautiful beige, minimalist design, and an emphasis on extremely cohesive posts. I’d love to go to a Seen Library event in LA. So far, I’ve only been to a book drive they hosted in South Pasadena—and made a cute little outing out of it.

Library Science

“A book club by Kaia Gerber and Alyssa Reeder.”

Library Science boasts more star power behind the account, but it feels just as cozy as the other two. We see curations of well-known authors’ nightstands, famous literary quotes, and reviews of their book of the month. I’m also dying to get my hands on some merch.

What book accounts are your faves to follow?
