My Valentine's Day Moodboard

The roses my husband got for me.

I made chocolate-covered strawberries with oat milk chocolate and strawberries from the farmers market.

We uncorked a bottle of Avaline’s pinot noir with dinner.

We made DIY ice cream sandwiches for dessert, served on plates from Plate Pillows.

My husband and I have never been super into Valentine’s Day. We don’t get each other presents and we don’t generally go out to celebrate. We prefer to stay in and order food and drink wine or champagne and eat decadent desserts. No cards, no gifts, no fuss. One of the best Valentine’s we ever had was seeing Blade at this little theatre in Toronto and then heading across the street to our favourite Italian spot for dinner.

This year, my husband surprised me with two bouquets of roses. We made ice cream sandwiches with the kids and then had homemade chocolate-covered strawberries after dinner while we watched a rom-com on Netflix.

It was perfect.
